# A totally blind artist made their song accessible to deaf people. Apparently, we’re doing this now.

> A totally blind artist adds readable lyrics and a timed-caption player to their song, with AI agents handling the implementation and caption timing still to be checked.

I’m totally blind. I made a song. Then I wanted people who couldn’t hear it to experience it too.

So, we added readable lyrics. I asked an AI agent to build a player with timed captions. Brought it back, had it adapted to my website, and put it online.

Now the song has captions that follow the playback, a transcript you can read at your own pace, and lyrics you can select to jump to that part of the recording. Keyboard controls. Optional automatic scrolling. Downloadable caption files.

And fuck me, it works.

The caption timings still need checking against the singing. I’m describing something you can try, not awarding myself an accessibility certificate.

But a totally blind person has just added access for deaf and hard-of-hearing people to their own creative work.

I didn’t have to become a caption-player developer. I had to notice that somebody was being left out, ask for what was needed, and get it made.

That’s the bit I want people to pay attention to.

Kindness scales too. So does the ability to do something about it.
