Sloppy thinking

There is a name for low-effort AI work: slop. There ought to be one for low-effort criticism of it, too.

The definition

Sloppy thinking (noun): The habit of treating AI-assisted work as inherently inferior, ignoring the ways such tools enable clarity, access, and participation.

AI slop is low-effort creation. Sloppy thinking is low-effort criticism. Both are lazy.

The definition as an old cream dictionary card on a dark green background: Sloppy Thinking, (noun), a small decorative rule, the definition, and the quote in a framed panel, with two faint cogs in the top right corner. Every word on it is in the text above.

The badge

For the next time someone says AI-assisted work doesn't count. Download it, post it as a reply, print it and cut it out, keep it.

A round badge. A pink cartoon pig in round glasses, with floppy ears and a small, satisfied smile, sits in a bright blue circle with a yellow edge. Around it, a navy ring carries SLOPPY THINKING in yellow capitals across the top and low-effort criticism in white across the bottom.
